IMDb is adding 'digital creator' as its newest professional category, alongside the more than 40 other types of creative workers it already classifies. Once a profile carries the tag, the creator can pick a subcategory: streamer, vlogger, video essaying, video creator, gaming creator or influencer.
The site, which is entering its 36th year of activity, says the label lets artists 'represent the full scope of their work in one place.' IMDb has not said how the tag affects audience discovery, channel distribution or creator payouts.
